Monica Scheibmeier has been named dean of the Washburn University School of Nursing.

Twenty-three Washburn University students were recently inducted into Sigma Lambda, criminal justice honor society. Inducted as the first honorary member was Kelly Mourning-Byers, secretary II, criminal justice department.

Forty-two students were inducted as members of the Ichabod Chapter of the National Senior Honor Society of Mortar Board at Washburn University. Also inducted as honorary member was Steve Cann, professor, political science.

Nineteen Washburn University School of Nursing students, one graduate and one member of the faculty were inducted into the Eta Kappa Chapter-at-Large of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. To qualify, a student must have completed at least one-half of the nursing curriculum, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and rank in the upper 35 percent of the class.
