Mental health issues topic of movie to be shown by NAMI Washburn

The struggles of a man suffering from bipolar disorder will be the focus of the movie  “Mr. Jones” which will be shown at 6 p.m. Monday Nov. 2, in room 158 of Morgan Hall, Washburn University.  No admission is charged and the public is welcome. The event is sponsored by NAMI Washburn.

CPR Training Saves Young Girl From Drowning

CPR training played a criticle role in the rescure of seven-year-old Venita Large from possibly drowning. A nursing school graduate began applying CPR immediately after the girl was pulled from a local swimming pool. When the first police officer arrived on the scene, he began assisting. Together, they saved the little girls life. You can learn more about swimming and water safety at the Kansas Capitol Area Chapter of the American Red Cross.
