Bil Moore Named to Board at Big Brothers Big Sisters

Bill Moore, president and chief executive officer of Westar Energy, has been named to the board of directors for Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters. Moore has worked for Westar Energy for 29 years.

Bill-MooreKansas Big Brothers Big Sisters served more than 6,400 children last year. The mission of the mentoring organization is to help boys and girls, most of whom are considered at-risk and live in single-parent homes, achieve their full potential through long-term personal relationships with volunteers.

Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters helps boys and girls, most of whom are considered at risk and live in single parent homes, achieve their full potential through long-term personal relationships with carefully screened and caring volunteers.

Children with a Big Brother or a Big Sister are 46% less likely to start using illegal drugs 27% less likely to start drinking alcohol 33% less likely to use violence to resolve problems.

Established in 1904, Big Brothers and Big Sisters is the nation's oldest and largest youth mentoring organization.
